| "We have come together to
give thanks for Bruno’s life, and to remember how he touched us all with his
leadership and generosity of spirit." A Memorial Service was held for Okimau at Trinity United Church in Peterborough, Ontario on Saturday April 24, 1999 – a sunny, warm spring afternoon. Hundreds of former Ponackians attended the service and reception following, with a group of them (especially from the 1960s and ’70s) continuing to catch up with one another in a pub across the street. Personal tributes to Okimau were delivered at the Service by four people: |
